graveyard listings
« on: Sunday 26 July 09 16:43 BST (UK) »
My name is Kay Edgar, I live in Australia, I am trying to find a way to get lists of interments in Southport and West Derby. I am trying with a great degree of difficulty to find my husbands relatives.  They lived in Bremmer Street West Derby, then Cuthbert Road Southport. None of the cousins I have found even know where or when some of the family became deceased or where there remains lie. I only have a couple of death certificates and they are for 2 of the sons. Here in Australia cemeteries are listed and the interments are listed as well so you can trace your relatives. It seems in England there is a different system.
Can someone please give me some ideas as to how to locate this information.

Hello Kay,

A very warm welcome to Rootschat.

I feel your post would be better off on the Lancashire board so I hope the Mods are reading this.  ;D

Unfortunately there are no interment records online for the area as far as I am aware.  However, this could depend on the time frame you are talking about .   If you could post any of the deceased names - date of death, date of birth or any census details this could help.  There are some very kind people on here who may look up the obituary in a local newspaper to find where they are buried.  This in turn may lead to discovering who is buried with them.

Sadly there is no easy way at the moment.

Kind regards,
Mo
