I have just traced my family tree back to 1849 Co Carlow, Ireland

Allan Madden
Mary Ann Dudgeon
Married October 1849
 
May have moved to Glasgow 1850

Allan's father's name was Bernard Madden.

This is all I have so far to go on, any information would be fantastic and I will keep this thread updates as I go.
