I am researching my family history and would like to hear from anyone who has any information on the Emmott family in Lancashire.

Hi emmott1

I am connected to an Emmett family (note spelling) in Lancashire.

My grandmother was an Emmett and, as far as I know, my direct Emmett ancestors (who I've traced back to early 1800s) always lived in the Blackburn/Chorley area.

I note you've posted on W. Yorkshire board so this might be a different family. My lot's surname is normally spelt Emmett, although I've seen a couple of variations (including Emmot) on census returns.

If you give me some information about your Lancashire connection, I'll check it for any common interest.

Regards .... MJW
