Ancestry's Records are only indexed up to 'N' at the moment, so if his actual records survived the WWII blitz (over 50% didnt) we'll have to wait a bit longer.

His Medal Card is there tho...... info includes:-

Roll Id and Page numbers for the Victory, British & 15 Star Medals - and a reference to a Silver War Badge.

Have you got him with his parents (named on the CWGC) on the 1901 / 1911 census ?

1901 - RG13/3527; Folio: 72; Page: 11 - St Helen, Lancs
24, Essex Street

pretty sure that this is them, despite the original looking like Finsley ?

all born St Helen

John Tinsley 26  Head Coal Miner (Hewer)
Sarah Tinsley 24  Wife
William Tinsley 4  Son

Hi Vaughan

Apart from the CWGC page, I cannot find William's death at all.  My g.uncle who died in France is listed on Findmypast WWI deaths, however, as the CWGC page shows that he is buried in St Helens Cemetery,  plot number 38.CE.243I,  think you can assume that he died in the UK as soldiers who died abroad were not brought back for burial as they are nowadays as there were just too many of them.

This throws up another query, as if he died in the UK, his death should have been registered in the UK but I can't find it.

By the way, did you click on "Certificate" at the bottom of the CWGC page you gave us?  This shows a photograph of part of St Helens Cemetery.

There are two references to W Tinsley in the National Archives, WO 339/55305 and WO 339/116540.  Maybe you can find someone who is going there to look these up for you, I don't know whether the Archives staff will do it for you for a fee.  I know you can get copies but you don't want to pay for them if they are not your William.

You will only get the name of the church by buying the marriage cert.

I looked on Lancashire BMD but the only marriages transcribed for 1895 in Prescot seem to have taken place in the Registry Office, otherwise the country BMDs are usually a good place to start.
