John Brown and Mary Maloney lived Liverpool
« on: Wednesday 29 July 09 16:06 BST (UK) »
I am trying to trace any information on a John Brown who married a Mary Maloney @ 1870.  They lived in Liverpool.  The only children that I know of were: daughter Ann @ 1871, sons Peter 1873 and Timothy @ 1876.  Ann married Thomas Fitzpatrick in 1890, Peter married Mary Jane Pritchard in 1894 and Timothy married Mary Ann Murphy in 1901.  Would be grateful if anybody could help as I have been searching for @ 18 months

Assume you have them on the 1881 census - can you not track back to discover more about John and Mary ?

I assume Mary's Maiden name is from a childs Birth Cert ?

whoops just seen how many John Browns marry in Liverpool around that time....

did you check for a marriage well after the kids were born ?

Her maiden name is from Peter's birth certificate and baptism record, even got the librarian to confirm name on baptism as writing was not very clear.  I am in process of going through church marriage records in library.  Have been checking from 1860 to 1880, have only managed to do 2 churches so far as have been looking for baptism for Ann and Timothy to see if the same name is on their records
