Heyes - St Helens - 1891 0n - Please

This is regarding the seemingly endless search to find my G-Grandmother Elizabeth Heyes and her family before she married in 1911.

All I know is she was born in about 1885 and I want to rule this family in or out...

In 1881 they lived at School Brow in Rainford and there was

Thomas Heyes - Head - 31 - Born Rainford - Coal Miner
Hannah Heyes - Wife - 26 -  Born Rainford
Mary Heyes - Daugther - 6 - Born Rainford
Thomas Heyes - Son - 5 - Born Rainford
William Heyes -Son - 2 - Born Rainford


Anyone even remotely like an Elizabeth living with them in later census'?

1891 has them as follows..

Thomas 41 Collier
Hannah 38
Polly 16  ( this is most likely Mary )
Thomas 15 Collier
William 12 Scholar
Ellen 7 Scholar

All born Rainford, living 39 Douton Street, Prescot, Ecclestone, Lancashire.

The 1901 shows an Elizabeth HEYES born about 1890 Upholland Lancashire parents Robert and Ellen, siblings Alice 7, Mary 4 and Margaret 2.

There are two Elizabeth Hayes in the 1901 census of St Helens:
EH born 1884 St Helens daughter of Mary and Robert and sister of Samual b. 1879
EH born 1885 St Helens neice in the household of Jane Ellison (nee Littler) which also includes grandmother and 3 boarders.

I didn't see them in 1891. But then maybe you are not sure she came from here?

Do you have her marriage cert?  If not, it may be worth ordering it as it should show the name of her father

There are 3 Elizabeth Heyes on lancashirebmd between 1882 and 1889    R.

Yes I do have her Marriage Certifcate. Thomas Heyes who in 1911 was 'Day Wage Man in Coal Mine'

We'll track her down yet!

Just to update this search.

First I got the birth certificate for Elizabeth's second child Josiah Jackson in 1919:

This says her name is Elizabeth Ann Jackson (Formally Heyes)

Secondly I got her death certificate which says she died 16th December 1921 aged 36, and again her name is Elizabeth Ann

So the age is sticking at 1885 and the name Elizabeth Ann.

Though previous searches have yeld nothing for Elizabeth living with Thomas Heyes/Hayes.

Elizabeth Ann Hayes
Christening 21 Jan 1885 St Thomas Eccleston St Helens
Father Thomas Hayes, Mother Mary

Doesnt say if its extracted or not just Batch I029200 which is an odd no, this takes you to further
Hayes/Heyes children, none of which has the same parents.

Those both looks interesting. If the IGI is correct then that rules one in.
Its certainly in the right area. Can only be so many Elizabeth Ann Heyes/Hayes in that area who are born abt1885 and whose father is named Thomas.

I'll just have to be prepared to get some wrong certificates. I'll take them all, if only one has a father named Thomas.
