1911 Nationality Codes
« on: Friday 31 July 09 03:36 BST (UK) »
Hi all, I don't know if this has been asked before, but today I got my first 1911 census page (the right one thankfully) and I don't understand what the codes are for nationality.

The head of household (widow) was born Malmesbury Wilts and has the no.  260 in red in the column.

Next is the heads son born in the Tower of London, Waterloo Barracks coded 000

Next is sis in law to head (housekeeper) born Peasenhall, Suffolk coded        200

Finally last daughter still at home born Dublin (Richmond Barracks) coded      601

What do they mean?

Thanks in advance

Philip
