1911 Census reference to any maps etc.
« on: Monday 03 August 09 14:47 BST (UK) »
Hi all,

I am just wondering is their anyway of finding out where house 1,2,3,4 etc. in the 1911 Census was in the townland with reference to a map are at least some rough idea.

And also what was the basis of this number. Did it go on previous plot numbers such as those in Griffiths and the Ordinance Survey.

There is a bit of a disagreement in my family as to which house my great great grand parents lived. We have them in the Census but different people say the house was in different places in the townland so hence my question.

The plots number generally seem to correspond between Griffiths and the census, at least it does for several of my ancestors. I suppose if the number of occupiers increases or decreased by a large amount then the may alter. The numbers also seem to correspond to the reference numbers used in the revision books.
