Has been on a few weeks (started with County Dublin) and was mentioned here at the time. Gradually other counties will be added (there's a list on the site which givesorder, but not date, counties will be added).

Thank you for this link! I would have to write a book to describe how thrilled I am! But I found my paternal grandmothers family home listed, and it supplied me with just the information I was looking for.  She was not listed as she had just emigrated to Hartford Ct, USA, But her parents and siblings were listed. I have to mention, that 4 years ago I knew almost nothing about Jane Moore, and as of today, thank to you I have enough information to request her birth cert.  Thank you! :)

:)  God bless Ireland for giving us this wonderful free gift!

After discovering my Gran, her parents and one of her brothers still living at home, I was delighted to see that my Gt Grandfather Michael Brady had signed his name...including his second name, which I didn't know.  Plus my Gt Grandmother was born in Roscommon, yet another piece of the jigsaw.

Sadly, it also revealed that my Gt Grandparents had 19 children born alive but only 11 living in 1911.  An elderly relative (living in the USA) of my late Irish Mum had previously told me that about 20 children were born to them..but I wasn't convinced..until I saw it in black and white.

I've also been 'found' by a second cousin once removed..one of the Gt Granddaughter's of my Gran's brother on the 1911 census...she lives in Indiana and we have swapped family details and photographs of our Irish ancestors.

Only found one other (married) sister of my Gran on the census, so the 9 others must be living in a different County.  Can't wait for the rest of Ireland to be put on line!

I agree , The o-on-line archive is a fantastic facility, especially as my paternal family is very Dublin based. One word of caution though is when using the index be mindful of how names are recorded. I was searching for McNamara and found several hundred though sadly not those i was looking for.  I revisited the search on several occasions as i was 99% sure that the family were in Dublin at that time - then a family member suggested leaving a space between Mc & Namara and to my suprise there they were after many wasted months.
In further searches i have used the * wildcard or used _ between names (Mc_Namara) and have great success.
Hope this proves useful to somebody

Yes, the latest release has been delayed just like Co. Dublin. There's been mention of the Dec. date in a few posts about it the last week or so. Hopefully it will be released in December but just have to wait and see.
