1911 Irish Census

I'm trying to find an ancestor who is not on the Irish census of 1911 but who came to Cork prior to the census and lived with an Irish family.

I have an address  of "Edmonton" St Patricks Hill Cork where she worked in 1909 from an old postcard sent.

Would someone be so kind to check which family either lived or used the house as there Country home in Ireland for the 1911 census

This is in the City which makes it harder.
What was your ancestors name age and place of birth? Her name may have being mis transcribed.

The census wont have the house name Edmonton listed only a number on a certain street. I presume Edmonton is the house name?

Thanks for both of the messages, Having looked through the links you kindly gave me it still doesn't give me the family she may have stayed there with. I know she was a servant and I hoped to confirm the name of the family that may have taken her over to Ireland with them. I wonder if there is a house in Cork named Edmonton close by to St Patrick's Hill

Hi,
I just discovered today that in some of the  transcriptions - surnames have been entered under christian names and vice versa.  I was looking for a listing today and after a long search found it.

An example say for Ann Abbott  - the abbott was under the Christian name and Ann under surname.  It would take a while to find that.

Put in some christian names under surname search and you will see for yourself.

Unfortunately that hasn't worked.

The previous reply had guided me to the census records at St Patricks Hill. I'm sure that my Marion Horne was a servant to an English Family and in the postcard of 1908 from Cork she shows the address. It is the house of interest which would give me the family she perhaps worked for or who were in residence.

The house's name is "Edmonton" St Patricks Hill Cork

is English the surname of the family that Marion worked for ? - do you know any of their first-names ?

Unfortunatly street numbers are used for houses on the census, and the house name will not be mentioned.
