Hello! My name is Doug McGowan, and I am looking for information about the McGowan (McGowen) family; specifically, the line of my g-g-g-g-grandfather Alexander McGowen (b. abt. 1781) who emigrated from Ramoan, Co. Antrim, to Pennsylvania (West Nantmeal, Chester Co.) in 1807. According to family tradition he had a sister named Elizabeth. Alexander may have used the nickname "Elac". I would greatly appreciate any information from Parish Records or any other source for that matter regarding Alexander or possible relatives. Census and other online resources show large concentrations of McGowans in Moyarget, but I don't know if these are "my guys". Any help, hints or inspiration would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
