1911 Census
« on: Wednesday 12 August 09 10:04 BST (UK) »
Hello,
I am hoping that someone can help with this mystery.
I looked up my Maunder line in the 1911 Census and the youngest child's name appears to have changed!
Frederick George Maunder(b1889) and Alfred Henry(1891)  were in the Bristol Home for Boys, Cumberland Road in the 1901 census. John Richard Maunder ( father) died in 1896.
Clara( mother) and daughter Alice were living at 13 Ashley St, Ashley, Bristol 1901 census (thanks to Arranroots for this info  :D  )
The 1911 Census has Clara widow 54
                                     Frederick George 22
                                     Albert Edward    18
I wonder what happened to Alfred? or am I looking at a different family
Cheers
Anne

Could Albert Edward be another child - ages 2 years different - who was staying with relatives on the night of the 1901 census?

Hello again Anne

As Irene suggests, there is a separate birth registration in Barton Regis for both boys - Albert is in 1893 - so they are two separate individuals.

You need to keep searching on 1911, it seems - unless he had gone abroad?

Kind regards, Arranroots  ;)

Thank you  :D
 I hadn't considered another sibling!
Ah, the tree just keeps growing.
On another note- does anyone know what a sripe dresser is ?  That was listed Frederick's occupation
Cheers

Only problem with that one is that his place of birth is given as Weston super Mare - but not always accurate!

The birth cert would sort it out I suppose.

Where did you see "sripe dresser" Anne - can you post the relevant bit somewhere so that we can see?  What is Frederick's occupation on other docs, so that we can see what skills he had?
