I think that surname might by Byleveldt - a fairly common Afrikaans surname. Not Byreveldt.
Southern or Southan [Hereford , Monmouthshire & Glos], Jenkins, Meredith and Morgan [Monmouthshire and Glos.], Murrill, Damary, Damry, Ray, Lawrence [all Middx. & London], Nethway from Kenn or Yatton. Also Riley and Lyons in South Africa and Riley from St. Helena.

Yes i have seen it spelt a few different ways,  which only adds to the confusion   ???
Even as REYNEVELD as in the Docs on NAAIRS, 

So at the moment i am none the wiser,  have googles it,  and there is a few around still,  with both spellings...???
