In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth

Hi

Civil registration in Scotland did not commence until 1855, prior to that you need to check the church records.

Don't see it on ScotlandsPeople, Satchwell.

Could it have been RC?

No, I couldn't find it there either.  The full date is on the birth cert for one of their children and 1849 on another cert, but I've been unable to find the marriage record anywhere.   Any help or suggestions would be gratefully received.

Hi

Scotlandspeople marriage OPR's are from the Established Church of Scotland. It doesn't include the Free Church of Scotland, which I think are at the National Arcives of Scotland, nor any other non-conformist churches. Without knowing the church, and there were many, it becomes difficult.
