Hi

Its a bit of a long shot but you could see if you can find churches close to where they were living in the 1851 census and see if someone has access to the records.

I would also suggest that you ask a moderator to move the topic to the Lanarkshire Board, hopefully someone there might be able to give you better advice.

Andy

Hi Satch

As they say! try tracking down the Churchs and parishs either form the census birth or residence of the the groom and bride. You give an exact date??? of the marriage and from this source? (Own family records maybe) or where you found this info may hold more clues.

Here are a few links =a forum and Gen Uk on parish's and Church's with date of records held.

Good luck

In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth

I'm not sure that these sites have Scottish records. As the marriage doesn't appear to be on Scotlandspeople then it could be Free Church of Scotland. I think these records are at the National Archives of Scotland.

Funny place Scotland on record finding as different to rest of the  UK!? but it a question of try and surfing all! The object is to help! there are in ancestry many avenues that lead to  dead ends and back tracking. One tries.
The marriage will be somewhere!

Best regards  :)

Hi Dobby,
It's my turn to have my cuppa and wake up way down under in NZ.
You mentioned your family came from Temple Balsall.  Are there any Satchell's in your family tree?
Would you be able to do a check for a family in Balsall for me?

Hi,
No! I have no Satchwells to my Knowledge! in my family tree but I've not done it all yet. I'd had seen your posts in search at the top of the page doing Balsall. Though Balsall common is a thriving busy place now! It did not even exist then! and Temple Balsall was Balsall then = being fen end and chadwick end.
3 corners of a large field

I live in Yorkshire unfortunatly!* but go down to Warwick about twice a year. I'll keep a lookout but it will be a slow job!
Find Bumbleb on Rootschat as she lives at Tamworth near Lichfield archives!/Birmingham archive/Library etc that have all the Bishops Transcripts of Balsall-Chadwickend-Berkswell- Rowington etc. Warwickshire.
PM her - nice Lady and Does odd look ups

I'll send you a PM

contact her in mid October after summer hols

Best I can do. But would have I had lived nearer Warwickshire.
