In 1891 he's living at

In 1901 he's living at

His wife is shown as Margaret, and her place of birth, taken from the census, is Newcastle upton Tyne.
Their first 5 children: Mary, Florence, Helena, Amy & John are all shown born Newcastle upton Tyne.

Many thanks .. Lyn

Could have been born in Jersey to a military family.

Given the early link to Newcastle, perhaps he came over from Ireland, lots of Lacey's there, particularly around the Limerick/Cork areas.

I don't know if this is going to help or not..

I checked the IGIs to see if Margaret had given her maiden name (but no!)
anyway
Mary Ann Lacy was baptised 2nd Oct 1870 All Saints Newcastle upon Tyne

Florence, Amy and Helena were all baptised the same day, 17 Apr 1878

I then checked the All Saints Newcastle batch to see if there were any other delacy baptisms going on and found:

Louisa Delacy
b 25 Feb 1864 bap 27 Feb 1867
father John; mother Louisa

Ada Matilda Elizabeth Delacy
b 14 Oct 1868 bap 18 May 1870
father John; mother Martha

on 1871, Louisa and Ada are sisters, mother IS Louisa
father John was born Bishopswearmouth co Durham and is a dentist.

going back to 1861
I found John (Lacy) in Cavendish sq Marylebone London living with his in-laws, saying he is a TAILOR, still from Bishopswearmouth

1851
John (M Lacey) is with his parents at home in
Stockton with his parents Robert and Elizabeth, still a tailor

I cannot find John or his parents in 1841, (Ireland maybe? or Jersey?)
no Charles with them but I was hoping that Charles may be a grandson of an older brother/sister to the above John Delacey

There are a few coincidences going on...

Hi jc
I think I have the right Charles in 1871. He's 26 yrs of age married, with 1 child. Living at 1 Camden Street, Newcastle. Surname spelt LACY and his occupation is shown as Tailor.

I had the baptisms for Mary, Florence Amy & Helena, but thank you anyway for the details.  BMD records of births & marriages show the surname spelt DE LACY. Charles's marriage BMD, the surname spelt LACY

strange but true...I am researching my family .Bonnett ..shown on a birth certificate as living at 5 risinghill street in 1900  the same as a charles de lacey.I am guessing it was a large block of flats, known as the Penton residences, but i cannot find any reference to that name ..any ideas ?? cheers
