Procter family Chipping, help please.
« on: Saturday 15 August 09 23:23 BST (UK) »
Hi

I am in a pickle with my research :'(

I have a birth certificate for a Thomas Procter born 1899 Chipping.

The father was William Procter living at Wolf house Mill Chipping married to Ann Coupe they married in 1890. On their marriage certificate it says William was living at Woolfell Hall. Fathers name John Procter.

I sent for Williams birth cert (two Williams born Chipping 1863) he was born at Wolf Fell Mill. Father John Procter mother Mary Ann Jackson.

I have found the census records relating to the family from 1841 on wards.
The address is either Wolf House Mill, Wolf House or Wolf house Hall on the records.

Would anyone know if wolf fell Mill and Wolf house Mill are the same place?

Most of the Procter's in Chipping appear to be related and it is difficult to figure out who is who :-\

Any help to get me on the right track would be appreciated.

Thanks
Nessie

Hi, Can you tell me whether you might have seen anywhere, the marriage of Charles E. Procter and Winifred C.H. Ward in 1915 Newport Shropshire. I don't see any connection on the site you recommended.
Cheers

On the Procter website my side of the family ends with the marriage of
my grandparents Mark Procter to Jessie Cranston in 1894 i would like to bring it up to 2010.
Especially with us having a new grandchild due tomorrow April 10th.

Hello, My great grandfather was Harry Procter, born 1867 (according to old research by my now deceased Uncle Harry) - his second wife Mary Lloyd Roberts was my great grandmother - they had 10 children (phew!) - one was Marion my grandma - had 3 children with Fred Eccles - Dorothy (my mum), Harry & Moira. Many years ago (I'm a forester) I met a Proctor farming down near Dengie Flats in Essex - he was a relative - my mum set up a correspondence - Mum died 17 years ago - trying to pick up the thread ? Can any of you help?

My uncle Harry found a reference to 'Wolf Dene Farm' Chipping from 1718, he thought they came from Wyredale & the men were rogueish 'moss troopers'. John Proctor, my great, grerat grandfather was bon 1849 (according to Harry's research)  & married Elizabeth Seed - their children were William, Harry (my relative), John, Alice, Richard & Thomas + 2 more (help?).   Thanks,   Martin
