Ann Marie,

One more question. Is the Maybole cemetery that you are checking the only cemetery in Maybole. Is it affiliated with any religion or can anyone be buried there?

Thanks.
Pat

There are several cemeteries associated with Maybole. Take a look at http://www.maybole.org/history/Books/monumentinscriptions/carrick.htm and follow the links on the page for more information.

Hi Anne Marie,

I wonder if you could help me, I've been rooting around trying to find where David McGarvie is buried, I know he died on the 4th of November 1851 in Maybole and an not sure where he would have been buried, I also know he was survied by his wife Jane nee Niven but again don't really know where she ended up either. Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks
Liz

I would love any information I can get about John Dempster and his wife Jennet Cooper/Cowpper, born c. 1791 and 1794, respectively; married 27 Jan 1821 in Barr by Girvan, Ayrshire (according to IGI). The last entries I find for them are in the 1851 Scotland Census.

Also, Jennet's parents, John Cooper/Cowpper and Agnes Cathcart, married 17 Feb 1787 (also according to IGI). Agnes born c. 1761, and was living with John and Jennet Dempster in the 1841 census. No further information about John.

I don't have information concerning John Dempster's parents, but his first two sons were Robert and John, and first two daughters Agnes and Jane.
