I have a database of over 115,000 Seddon records, which goes back to the mid 1400's.
If anyone want a look send me an email at (*)

Hi Dan,

Are you proposing to send all 115,000 records to anyone who asks?

I'm missing a couple of marriages and possibly one or two births but not sure that I need that many  ;D

Hi!  I'm new to this Website.
I'm a Seddon through my late father, Henry (aka "Harry"), who was from Liverpool - Aintree to be exact.
I understand Seddon is a well-known Lancashire name.  My father's family lived in the Aintree/Fazakerley/Walton area.
I believe my Grandfather, also a Henry, married into the Pope family of Fazakerley following the death of his first wife, Sarah Ann, who died following the birth of my father.
I have been able to find several of my direct-line ancestors from PRO documents and Censuses as follows :

Father : Henry SEDDON; born 14/1/1891, d. 1969
Grandfather : Henry SEDDON; born c. 1865; married 12/1/1887 to
Grandmother : Sarah Ann SEDDON (nee HEYWOOD); born c. 1865, married 12/1/1887; died 1891
Greatgrandfather : Edward SEDDON; born c. 1832; married 24/5/1859 to
Greatgrandmother : Margaret SEDDON (nee HARRISON) born c. 1839
Greatgreatgrandfather : William SEDDON; born < 1815; married c. 1830

I'm sorry this is so fragmentary, but any help you may be able to give me would be most appreciated.
Sincerely,

Harry Seddon,
Vancouver, Canada

Hi Harry, welcome to rootschat.

There are huge numbers of Seddons in Lancashire.  Mine tend to come from the Lancashire/Cheshire border - closer to Manchester than Liverpool but if you ever find a connection to that area please get in touch, there may be info we can swap

Hello
Has anyone by any chance got a record for the marriage of William Seddon to Grace (both born Manchester c1790)? Their two eldest daughters were baptised in Manchester Cathedral in 1826 before the family moved away.
I've been seraching for the marriage and Grace's maiden name for 20-odd years so if you have I think it's safe to say I'll be pleased  ;D
