Canadian shipping records, 1870s
« on: Thursday 20 August 09 20:54 BST (UK) »
I am still trying to solve a mystery regarding James T BEER(s), who was recorded in the 1871 census in Dover (UK) aged 17.
The next record we have of him is his marriage in Salt Lake City, Utah, in March 1880.
Family legend has it that he traveled to the US in 1871, then returned to England some time later to finish his medical training, before finally emigrating to Utah in 1877.
I have been unable to locate any records of his entering or leaving the States - can anybody help PLEASE!!!!  This has been bugging me for a couple of years now.  Maybe he entered through Canada?
Thanks.
Bill
