Looking for a Mary Hutchinson .Born Alston Cumberland 1817 , Looking for her death found Dec 1894 Hexham 10b 207 . Was on Alston census in 1851/61/71/81 ..Did she go to Northumberland to stay at relatives after her husband died in 1894 .It was very possible .
Can somebody see if she was on 1891 census  Hexham area please . Usual stuff reqd , who was there with her and the address please .

7 and a half minutes..That must be a record ..Well done and yes birthplace varied between Alston and Nenthead in Cumberland depending on what records you look at , so thats her .  Seems quite well off as well .

But it is probable that she or her folk were consistent with "Nenthead" in reply to "Where Born" for the censuses.

But Enumerators were instructed to record either " Place of Birth" or " Parish of Birth".

Nenthead the place , lay within Alston the Parish.
