Coroner's inquest for W. (Bill) WHITE, 1872???
« on: Tuesday 25 August 09 00:51 BST (UK) »
Hello All,

I'm hoping someone can help me with this query.
We have a William White, who was killed by a falling tree in the churchyard of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Burrawang. His death was in 1872. My question is this... Would there have been a coroner's inquest and if there was, where would I find the results.
Grateful of any help

Del

Many thanks Cando for pointing me in the right direction. Looks like a trip to Kingswood for me.

this appears to be his headstone, but  the surname is spelt Whyte.

Hi Jenn,

Many thanks for the reply. :D

The little church is celebrating 140yr anniversary this year and poor William was one of the first burials in it's cemetery. Am hoping to gather more background info about the church and it's early pioneers in this (Burrawang NSW) area.

Thanks again         Del

Hi Del,
I’m hoping you see my message as your’s is from a long time ago.
I too am looking for information on William Whyte and his family’s time in Burrawang NSW, if you have found any info I would love to know.
William Whyte was my 2nd Great Grand Uncle and I happen to live quite close to Burrawang and have been to see his grave but unfortunately I have had some difficulty finding info on the families time in the village.
I do know that they were one of the pioneering families to settle in the area but not much more.

Hoping you see my message

Regards
Sarah
