Glad to help.  I looked  for what may restart the search or what's of interest
so you can gauge what's in the file before ordering.

Good luck

More good news- from a passenger listing i can tell you the husband was Christoffel James Morton - from archives you will see he was widowed in 1938 so i am not sure when he married mary jessie

Thank you. I am so excited at your findings. If he only died in 1995 there may be some living relatives, possibly cousins for my dad. Thank you again. We'll start searching that line of enquiry now.

Just a thank you to all who helped with our family search. We have finally ordered our great grandmother's estate details from Capetown archives but have hit a dead end with Mary Jessie Morton (nee Young). We contacted both the Soco, church and golf club but no leads. Ah well perhaps it isn't meant to be. Thank you again.

Hi there, Mary Jessie Young was my mother, she died 49 years ago in Kimberley South Africa.  She was a registered nursing sister who trained at Edinburgh Royal and came to SA when she was 25. She was born in 1918 and married Christoffel James Morton. Her brother was Donald and her mother re-married after Percy died - her second husband's surname was Grant-Dalton.  She has two children - myself Cathryn Mary Elizabeth and my brother (who lives in America) his name is Donald James Adair Morton.  I would love to hear from you
