1851/61 North Myton completed
« on: Thursday 03 March 05 13:05 GMT (UK) »
I have found a possible connection to my Barker family who came from Otley Yorkshire.
I have found Robert Barker born about 1843 on the 1871 census & upto 1901 married & with his family I am now trying to trace him back to find him with his parents in 1851 & 1861.
In 1871 he was living in Canning Street  & there is a Robert age 56 living 64 Collier Street which is possibly his father as they have the same occupation of paper hanger.
I would appreciate any help
Regards
Sandra

Hi Sandra

Sorry we haven't been able to help you so far on this one.

Have you made any progress,  or do you have any further details that could help someone to find what you are looking for?

Look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes

Hi Oly
Thank you for the info, Family history was one of the sons married a lady from Cook's circus & pretty sure this would be Robert's wife Elizabeth with the use of Cook as a middle name, also same source was told they connected to Otley Barker's. Peter the father doesn't appear on any of the census & no death registered.

I haven't managed to 100% connect this Hull line to my Barker family yet. I have a letter that mentions a brother Peter from Kildwick{Otley} left his family in Hull & went to America.
Thanks again for your help as this adds a bit more to my info & hopefully it will fit into place in the future
Regards
Sandra
