The GRO indexes seem to show plenty of Matilda Campbells born in Derry - have you tried them all?

Most likely birth for 'Matilda Campbell born c1885' is Matilda Campbell Apr./June 1886 Londonderry registration district volume 2 page 197 but the only way to know if this is the correct one is to order the birth certificate. There are several Minnie Campbell's in the birth registrations but Minnie is often a nickname for Mary which means there could be numerous choices.

Hi there, I was interested to read your post and your reference to  Minnie Campbell. I have a record of Minnie Campbell whose father was   John Campbell as stated on her wedding certificate. She got married to Thomas Jamieson my great great grandfather on 18th June 1891 at 2nd Presbyterian church Glendermott . Thomas was  a tailor Her address was given as Sloan's Terrace Waterside Londonderry. John Campbell was a storeman. Could this be the same Minnie do you think?

Hello again, Since posting here I have found out from aghadowey on another post that my Minnie Campbell had 2 sisters called Martha who was 26 in the 1911 census and Sarah who was 22. They were born in Donegal.

Many thanks for the information.  Unfortunately no relation.  I've since found the birth record for Matilda Campbell.
