Hi Rose
Not sure where you would find photos of the family except through living descendents, someone may be able to come up with other ideas.
In terms of finding documents:
-
www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk is the official pay to view site for birth, marriage and death certificates and census images. You will find the original image of the marriage certificate for Patrick and Helen on there in 1890 (not 1891).
- death certificates for Patrick and Helen should also be available on there, together with their parents I would imagine (assuming Helen's parents remained in Scotland). Scottish certificates are very informative and should help you work back on their families if that is what you are also wanting to do. I think though, from your posts on other forums, that you have already identified and worked back on Patrick and Helen's families.
- the census info I have posted on comes only from a transcript (Ancestry). The original images for the Scottish entries are also available on Scotlands People.
- I could find Rollo on the 1901 census (Reginald Maurice Rollo Paterson) at school in Edinburgh following his return from Australia but struggling to see Patrick and Helen in 1901 on the transcripts.
I have seen the numerous references to Rollo Paterson on line, most of them in Spanish given his time and work there such as
http://members.fortunecity.com/fabianvillegas3/arte/datosbio.htmRegarding Helen being a composer and pianist, not sure where you would find out more about this.
It would help to be able to find her and Patrick in 1901 as this would give you more background on the family and also any siblings for Rollo.
