I wonder where the daughter Elizabeth (14 in 1871) was in 1861 - grandparents would help !

Notice that the 2 Lodgers/Boarders in 1871 (Hockley & Gilder) were also born Thaxted ....

My copy of Ancestry says Church Gresley is in Derbyshire  ::)

are you using another vendor Barbara ?   ;)

1871 address given as  Colliery Row, Church Gresley, Lichfield, Staffordshire  ::)

Guessing it must be near the border of both

Thank you again for all help. Yes i have access to all census to save. I live about 3 miles from church gresley and i am very familiar with the area it is defo derbyshire. It is a shame it asn't maternal grandparents that would have been great nothing is simple in this hobby.
