As Edward was Lydia's Brother then Edward is the boys Uncle. So if Thomas Dunn is the son of Edward he would be cousin to the boys and Nephew to Lydia. Jane. :)

Hello Leprechaun

No, non of the names mean anything to me, at the moment.  I'll make a note of them.

I couldn't get my head round your explanation of the relationships.  Lydia did have a brother Edward Dunn.  But her cousin, and by default, also Edward's cousin;  Thomas, must surely be the son of Lydia and Edward's uncle. i.e. the son of their father Edward's brother.

Hi Sky well you know your own family, much better than me.
Ok looked again at ship's list.
The eldest Child of Lydia George Harry.  age 24yrs was going to Thomas Dunn cousin.
Lydia and Charles Frank and Robert F were going to Edward Dunn. Brother of Lydia.  :) So could Thomas Dunn be the son of Edward Dunn.

Hello Leprechaun

Thank you for persevering.  On the shipping list that I see, there is no passenger destination, and from your wording it wasn't clear to me that George Harry was going to a different address!  So yes, you are right, it is George Harry's cousin, not Lydia's.

So........Thomas Dunn could be the son of Edward BUT probably not of Edward's present marriage - his eldest child at home in 1905 was 7 years of age, and if Thomas had an address of his own then he must be an adult in 1912.  There is a second possibility - Lydia Jane had a second brother, John b.1857 Keele Staffordshire England.  This John was a police constable on the English 1881 census and unmarried at that time.  I haven't been able to find him since - perhaps he came to the US and Thomas is his son?

Hello Sky. Yes I see John P.C. 24yrs at Lower Church Lane Police Station.in 1881.

In the 1861 I can see a John Dunn age 4yrs Born Keele Staffs: also a Brother Edward age 6yrs. Born Keele.
If there father was Edward and Mother Martha Mary then that must be him.
In 1871 there is a John Dunn age 14yrs Born Keele. He is a Boarder in a school in Chorlton Staffs.
Still have not found him on any ships. or in Mass: :)

Maybe a Library in Dudley Staffordshire would know  if any records were kept for Policemen
It's worth a try. I am sure someone would help on the England Staffordshire Board.
            Just a thought.  :)
I got records myself for a Policeman but this was in the U.S.A.
