seeking family of Mr Fawns 169 Wimbledon Park Road SW18
« on: Sunday 06 September 09 04:42 BST (UK) »
My Dad was involved in the wartime rescue of a Mr Fawns, and another person, who had been trapped in the rubble of a bombed house at 60 Granville Road, Wandsworth on the night of September 9th 1940, for which he was awarded the George Medal.
I wonder if there are any descendants of this Mr Fawns reading this forum. I would love to hear from them.
Mr Fawns home address was recorded as 169 Wimbledon Park Road SW 18. Unfortunately I do not have any initial.
I recently visited the National Archives and was able to get a copy of the original documentation re this event.
I know it is a bit of a long shot, but strange things can happen....
Cheers
Sandra
