I have a few avenues left to try. I have made a couple of phone calls with no success, we'll see.
I have seen a site on the net with many Chappuzeaus listed descending from Samuel, I suppose it is yours?

I'll keep you posted.
I will also see if I can trace backwards for any records on August.

Ian,
Yes that's my site. You will have seen there that I have written a biography of Samuel. His English Wikipedia page is also mine, but not the French or German ones.

Thank you for all your effort - it is much appreciated.

Should I tell you that one of Samuel's descendants was Jacob, who was honoured by the Tsar for his role in defeating the Swedish navy at Oesel Island?  Perhaps not, but it was a long time ago!

Ok. Found him. A very helpful lady from the Swedish Archives helped out.

She married Helmut Karl Albert Chappuzeau in Germany 5 July 1950.
Helmut was born in Göttingen, Germany 18 May 1892.
Helmut died 8 Oct 1967 in Germany.

Helmut was not registered in Sweden and he had number along with his name: 0004.

They had no children.

Thanks again Ian,
Yes I do have Helmut, but not his wife, although I have a note that he might have married first in 1930.
In any case, they had no children - she was 43 when they married.
So we have reached the end for his line.

Still looking for more about Elise's father though, to try and link him in.

Cheers.
I will definately have a go to find more on him here in Sweden.
I'll get back to you.

Hi Neil,
I have gone through many books and found nothing more to do with the Chappuzeaus. I'm afraid that's it.
I can add though that he was a wallpaper master in a workshop.
