1911 census look up

Hi Ihave the 1911 census in it I found my grandfather and his family  then I search the house and buliding returns there I seen a thomas mahoney who may have been my gg.grandfather but he was not on the census 2nd april 1911  the date on the house /bulildings  was 8th april 1911 can anyone explain this for me .

All censuses show the people in a house on a given night.  It doesn't matter whether they normally live there or not.  If they do normally live there, but were not at home for some reason, they should not be listed.

As you have two different dates here, it suggests that your possible gg.grandfather was away from home on 2 April, but back on the 8th.  Have you tried looking for him somewhere else on the 2nd?  Does his occupation give a clue as to why he might be away?

Hi Linda
thank you for your reply regarding the 1911 census there are 14 familys listed in high stree as i said one is my grandfather bartholomew mahoney and family
then on the house / buildings there are 7 familys one thomas mahoney who may be my ggrandfather but  i cannot see thoes family on the origanl census  as you see my ggrandfather would have been 67 years at that time. once again many thanks for your help re/ this topic...

Sometimes there are multiple pages to search for a street/townaldn- have you searched all the pages that are listed?
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
