Hi Guys and Gals......
My son in law,is the great great grandson, of Joseph Patrick Perry , who , along with his partner, Alf Allan,, started the renowned Happy Valley Minstrels.......
"Joe" was born in 1855, at Newcastle on Tyne, and died 13th September 1904, at Granton House, Tudno Street, Llandudno......
I have his obituary, at the time of his death. But I would be really grateful, if someone could tell me if He has a MI. He was buried, I believe at St Tudno's......
This is quite a interesting family. "Joe" had two illegitimate daughters. Marie, who I have managed to trace, born 14th October 1891, became a nun, and NELLIE , who was named in his obituary. I can find no trace of her, but she was "In a Convent School , abroad " at the time of his death.
I have found Marie, and her mother Mary Hughes, living at Taliesin Street, on the 1901 census. Mary is stated to be "Kept by a man ! On her birth certificate , Mary was Mary Perry, nee Hughes. There was no marriage.....
There appears to have been quite a lot of gossip, around the time of his death. His wife Sarah, had, we think, a illegitimate ? son in 1891, at Portsea, in Hampshire.
Not sure how, or if, anyone can help us unravel this story. I would love to find Nellie. She may also have become a nun....don't blame her. As I said, quite a interesting family !
Kind Regards
