I haven't got so far back yet unfortunately! I've literally started the search a few nights ago after coming across all the family details I got off my Nan before she sadly passed away. I will get back to you if I do find a link, thanks!

A lot of work has been done on the Marslands of Timperley and Baguley. This work dates back to the early 1700s so far.

Hi Rambler - just wondering if you're interested in Walter Gosling & Margaret McGee? I'm not specifically researching them but do have a link to them as they brought up my grandfather (Margaret's sister's child) and I can give you some pointers. They lived on Cherry Tree Lane - No.91 from memory; which is still there.

Hello Ray,

Thanks for the offer, but Walter Gosling is from a branch which I haven't so far been able to link to mine, unfortunately.  I've collected basic info on a few Gosling families in Hazel Grove in the hope of being able to tie them in with mine, but no luck so far...  :(

Hi Rambler - that's OK give me a shout if you decide you need anything later. I've just rejoined the board after several years absence.

Hi PHILLIP

I have a vague connection to the Marslands of Timperley and I think they are connected to the ones from the Sale area. I noticed some Marslands in Stockport but never found a recent conection.

There are Goslings in my family. My grandad was Harry Gosling (born 1928), his parents and/or grandparents used to own The Cock hotel/pub in hazel grove right up until the 60s/70s, which to my knowledge is still there. His parents were William Gosling and Alice Carr (she was born 1891 i think). I think Williams dad had the same name too. One was William and other was William Nathalie, not sure which was which.

very interesting, I should start looking into this myself. All I have so far is a tree with a lot of gaps, and photos/what people have told me.
Mary Alice Carr does sound right, it must be her based on the other information.
I'm sure Emma Gosling's maiden name is Reynolds, we have photos of the Reynolds family in a large photo album/book that has her name and something related to queen victoria embossed into it. I think it was some kind of commerative thing for the diamond jubilee. I'll ask my dad for it all and have a proper look at it

thanks for the info  ;)
