Susannah & Arthur HUKE - Gas Works, Exning.

Hi all,

I have all the info I need for Susannah & Arthur. So I'm hoping this request is straight forward. I have been looking on the internet at one of their addresses and was horrified to see it is due to be built on as new houses. The address shows slightly differently on both census, but guess they are one and the same!!

1891 Victoria Cottage, Gas Works, Exning Road

1901 Gas Works, Exning Road.

Does anyone have photos of the house and/or the Gas Works they can forward to me. I live in Cyprus, so unable to take photo's myself.

Alison I would imagine that the Newmarket Local History Group will have taken photographs before the demolition.   I will PM you the details of the Local History Recorder for Newmarket, he is on email and will be able to advise you further - and hopefully send any photographs.  He is a diligent Recorder for the town and a member of the local history society.
