I too have been doing family research into Weighs and Yates. I'm interested in the story of Sarah giving birth at My grandmothers birthplace, paradise farm. Any further news?

HI Shirlsanne
I have put a posting on the Yates forum asking about your family tree.  It sounds as though you are descended from Edward and Jane.  Is this so?I sent for the marriage cert to find out the name of Jane's father then I could hopefully find out if Jane and my great x2 grandmother Sarah were sisters.  I know most of the descendants of Sarah and James Phythian but was getting nowhere with the Yates.  This forum has helped a lot. I should be glad of any information you have on the Yates.

In Welsh wills website I found 26 Weigh wills , all of Hawarden.

 Edward Weigh : 1566.
In Hawarden Probate Records, 1554-1858 (WlAbNL)3650007
Details Weigh, Edward, Ewloe, Hawarden, Flint
Unfortunatly wills held at Hawarden will are not able to be viewed online, but it  seems the Weigh family have been in that area for many years.

Hi All

Thank you for the recent news re the Weighs. I will definately look into the Weigh wills when I next go to Hawarden records office. I have traced the Weighs back to the end of the 1500s and have one or two maps old maps the area.By the way has Barry Sheen any significance for Hawarden? I have Sheens from Hawarden in my grandfathers tree.  Shirley :)

No Hawarden links with Sheene, I am just a bike fan and he was one of my favourites. :) :) :)

Strange.....I'm sure I recall that Barry Sheene's daughter is called Sydney which is a common name for girls in Hawarden!

My grandfather was Joe Sheen, his sisters were Vida & Mary, his brother was Dan , I think they had cousins who lived down Aston Lane .
