Young/ Wilson
« on: Thursday 24 September 09 15:06 BST (UK) »
Alexander Young b 1822 was my GGGrandfather. his parents (given on his death cert in 1888) are Alexander Young, blacksmith deceased and Christian / christina (not clear ) m.s Wilson.

i have been searching for a long time for Alexander jnr birth. I have his marriage and children etc. he was married in Dunfermline  to isabella Aitkin and on census 1851/61/71/81 living there too. not found before that. he was a blacksmith like his father (colliery)

However recently found a death for an Alexander Young, in crossgates Dunfermline where they lived who I think might be his father. died 1848 born 1791. birth which fits is an Alexander Young 15/5/1791 clackmannan - father Charles, mother isobel Drysdale. charles working as a tanner at Westhaugh (colliery)

Christian/tina Wilson is also a problem. have found a birth for one 3/6/1792 Clackmannan father goerge mother Ann Westwater which would obviously fit with Alex snr.

I need to confirm all this SO can anyone find:
1. marriage for an Alexander Young & Christian Wilson around 1800 - 1822 clackmannan /dunfermline area
2. death for Christian Young prob Dunfermline before 1888 (Alex jnrs death)
3 death for Alex Young snr before 1888
4.birth for Alex b.1822 Dunfermline

Andrew Young b 6 Feb 1799 in Fossoway married Beatrix Harley in 1824. Andrew's family seem to move a lot between Kinross and Alloa, so maybe they aren't connected to your Dunfermline lot.

Hi diddymiller

I have Christian WILSON on my family line, seems that she had a bunch of brothers and sisters. Have you seen the website by a Bruce WILSON that lives in Oz?

I think that is where my info came from (was so long ago I got the info and I never wrote the source down  :(

If I can be of any help, let me know.

My line of WILSON's came to New Zealand in the 1870's ish

Kind regards

Gail.
