Hi Cathy,

I have been in contact with Liz down the line.

I would appreciate if you come across anyone with the name Crowley in the Kilrush registers.  I spent a small fortune a few years ago at the Corofin Centre in Clare ... I had more info than they supplied me!!
It's a hit and miss.

Thanks Cathy,

Marie

Hi Cathy,

I have ground to a halt for now, I have done everything but dig them up!!   ;D

Will give the Facebook group a look in, thanks for that.

Good luck with the Kilrush registers.

Hi Doire

Sorry haven't been doing my genealogy for awhile, and have just recently started up again, I noticed that you have Ryans we also have them on our tree, my grandmother Catherine Horan's mother Judith(Johanna Mullaly's sister Margaret married a Stephen Ryan as yet I havent found out where he was from, only that they married in South Australia, his father was John William Francis Ryan. I also still havent found out where John Horan came from in Clare but will keep at it.

Hi Babs,

Good to hear from you.  It's Cathy who has Ryan's in her family tree.  I am sure she will see your post and get in contact.

I have noticed in my research in the Kilmaley Parish in Clare, there are loads of Horan's.  Do you have any birth dates I can check for you in this Parish?

Hi Cathy,
So glad to hear from you,John Horan(is how my family spelt it) was my grandmother Catherine's (known as Katie )father, so he was my great grandfather, my ggrandmother was Johanna Mullaley, not honorah, she was known as Annie, but on the shipping record it has her as Judith. Most of the children died young, of Thomas I have no info, but the rest of children were Honorah Mary,Margaret, Bridget Mary, William Andrew,Mary Honorah, Johanna also known as Annie,John Michael,John Edward,Edward Lawrence, I can give you all their dates if you would like. What I want to know is Where in Clare was John from, as I have no info on the family how they came to South Australia, also did John have Bridget to a different marriage,as she is the only one not born in Mt Gambier South Australia. I have Bridget on my tree as marrying John Kain, I am starting to think we may have our Bridget's mixed up, or did she marry twice, let me know as I know a lot of Irish used similar names.
Look forward to hearing from you
Kind regards
Barbara :)

Hi Barbara:)
Thanks for your post, Nice to hear from you...Im in SA too..Yes can get confusing whilst researching with surnames as many different ways to spell a surname too, and some often changed their spelling
my lot Haren , who came from clare were apparently from the areas of miltown malbay and inagh co clare...but there were also families there spelt harhen too..
there was also a Terence haren who came to SA born circa 1832 in Clare lived in Clare SA but have yet to find his arrival Into aus, my ggrandmother Bridget Haren arrived in SA in 1855 on William Stevenson , she was born in 1836 and she first went to clare in SA so im wondering was Terence haren a relation...then her 2 sisters annie and Katie haren followed a few yrs later with her mother hanorah, but what happened to their father/husband john , have found nothing on him
don't know if u on facebook, I am, but theres an excellent county clare Ireland genealogy board u can join, im a member, great site, lovely people too
have u found your lot of horans coming into aus??im guessing u have checked trove newspapers too
I also have kain in my tree, married into my hare direct line around pt pirie in SA
stay in touch
Regards
Cathy:)
