William Langstaff was buried at Tallington on 16 Dec 1844 age 56

Father probably William Langstaff baptised at Tallington in 1753 and buried 16 Jan 1829 who married and who married Mary Digby 23 Dec 1783 at Tallington

William baptised 1753 son of Jonathan and Margaret.

Jonathan LONGSTAFF married Margaret Harrison 30 Sep 1750 at Tallington and then Jonathan widower LANGSTAFF also married a Mary Digby in 23 Nov 1769 at Tallington

Jonathan might be the son of Jonathan Longstaff and Elizabeth baptised at Oakham 1725 which is about 15 miles from Tallington.

Williams (1786) wife Ann was born about 1798 in Holbeach which is about 20 miles from Tallington. I have not been able to find a marriage but you should be able to find a maiden name for her from get her maiden name from the Davy marriage.
Back to Mary Digby b1752 - probabably daughter of John Digby who married Mary Rodman at Tallington 27 Feb 1747

Dear Jackie,
many thanks to adding to this.  This has been a very successful posting! I have someone in Licolnshire offering to go and look at Tallington Parish records for these Longstaffs so I will pass on your information.
Thanks again
Bob

You are welcome - what is intriguing is where they were in 1871 and 1881. Winifred had a very Irish name in spite of being born in the UK. I wonder if they were in Ireland

Hi,
Yes it is a puzzle. As they were working in Ship building etc I've looked in Scotland (were most of my relatives are from) but they are not there.
