I find this very interesting , I was wondering if anyone could tell me more about the actors and comedians in the house,
I am related through Elizabeth Hunter the six year old-
The head of the household Henry Hunter seems to have comedians and actors boarding in his house.

Perhaps they were all appearing in the same production so stayed in the same lodgings

Hi  :)

It might be worth finding out what the music halls were in BA at the  time.

This site gives some indication:

The Theatre Royal/Masonic Music Hall and The Temperance Hall, look likely candidates.

The people responsible for the site may be able to give you more information.

Hi,

I notice one or two other houses in the same street have actors boarding in them. The Theatrical Manager and his wife are at number 65.

It seems to be a commercial area as there are a lot of tailors, drapers, dressmakers and milliners listed in the same street.

And how about the Eden Theatre on Newgate Street, now knocked down, but it was managed at one time by Stan Laurel's fathers a Jefferson.
