It seems Lavinia Burr died Dec qtr 1904 age 41 Walsall 6b 460
And Marcellus Burr 48 together with a Bryan Burr age 28
sailed from Southampton to New York arriving 11th June 1911 They were making for Little Falls New York
Their last permanent residence was Slade Road, Walsall, either Edington or Adington (can't read it sorry) Birmingham.
A nephew H. Burr of 49 Kings Road is mentioned

So it could have been Marcellus who was sending the magazines home, not Lavinia unless of course they had been to America earlier then come home again, although I haven't been able to find them on an earlier passenger list.

Hope I have the right family  :D

Su,
I'm absolutely sure you do have the right family.
My grandfather was always quite vague about his sisters, but I got the impression that more than one was in America so it maybe that Elizabeth followed on and sent the magazines back to Grandad.
That I can follow up on, but for now I have to bid my wonderful Great Aunt Larisa a fond farewell as she disappears into the ether, and then get to know my Great Aunt Lavinia, who sounds a much more solid sounding character altogether.
Thank you all so much
Maggie

 ;D ;D ;D

Maggie just in case you cannot find them on the 1901 they are mistranscribed as Buro...RG13/2704 folio 131 pg 8 living in Walsall Staffs, and indeed Marcellus is now a House Painter so it's the right chap on the passenger ship.

Kind regards
Su

Mark, how amazing that you should trip over this post and realise it is your family!   Just shows how good Rootschat is.
If you are descended from Lavinia we must be related, because she is definitely my great aunt.    Until this thread and all Su's hard work I didn''t know about Marcellus (wonderful name) and the Burr family at all, but you will have worked all that out for yourself if you read the thread from the start.
If your family are the Burrs and she was an aunt or similar, you may not have much interest in Lavinia's forbears, but of course if you are a direct descendant they are your family too, and I do know a fair bit about them - I know you can't PM (sent a personal message) until the first 10 messages have gone on the board, but happy to give you more details.
Thank you very much for posting!

You only have to have 3 posts before receiving PM's, so it should work for you now, Mark.
