Ship Passenger list look up
« on: Wednesday 14 October 09 08:04 BST (UK) »
Hello everyone,

I have an interest in the following passenger:

BARTELS Henry (also Heinrich, or Johann Heinrich) Age:32 Ship "John Caesar" 1856 Moreton Bay. From Hamburg, Germany.

The "John Caesar" was also known as the "Johan Caesaer" or "Johann Caesar".

In a previous query by someone else regarding the same ship, someone was able to provide her with additional info such as occupation and town of origin. If someone were able to do the ame for me, I would be most grateful.

Thank you in advance.

Kristy

Hi Kristy,

BARTELS Heinr age 30 a shepherd, residing in the town of Peine in the State of Hanover contracted to travel from Hamburg to Morton Bay Australia aboard the JOHAN CESAR - 1855

I don't see anybody else from Peine aboard.

Cheers Kris  :)

Thanks for that, Kris :)

I've also noticed that on the same voyage there were Charles WAGNER aged 21, and Henry WAGNER aged 23. Is there any information available on them? Henry later went on to marry a Catherine WAGNER, and while I know it's a common surname, I thought it would be interesting to find out where they were from, and if it matches to Catherine's information (when I find out where she was from).

Thanks again, Kris, I really appreciate your help.

Cheers,
Kristy

Hi there,

I'm interested in any information for the Petry family that sailed aboard the Johan Caesar from Hamburg in September 1855 and arrived in Moreton Bay in February 1856.

I have an interest in Johan Michael MAUCH + half brother Johannes and their families, who sailed from Hamburg on the Johan Cesar in 1855, arriving at Moreton Bay in Feb 1856.

I would like to know if there is any reliable information about how these emigres were "processed" and dispatched to a work place?
BORCHARDT in Poland/Germany, BOSKOWITZ in Czechoslovakia, Hungary + Austria, BUSS in Baden, Germany + Switzerland, FEKETE in Hungary + Austria, GOTTHILF in Hammerstein + Berlin, GUBLER, GYSI, LABHARDT & RYCHNER in Switzerland, KONIG & KRONER in Germany, PLACZEK, WUNSCH & SILBERBERG in Poland.
