please help find grave
« on: Thursday 22 October 09 09:32 BST (UK) »
I am desperately seeking to find the grave of claribel janney, she passed away on may 2nd 1987 and i believe her death was registered in spilsby, lincolnshire.  she had a daughter called margaret who moved to australia but in the same year of 1987 she also passed away, her ashes were returned to the uk and buried alongside claribels.  I know they both have headstones but i dont know where.  Claribel lived in alford, lincs and the surrounding area. Really desperate to find the graves. Can anyone help?? Thank You

Hi Gavhare

You could try Alford Town council http://www.alfordtown.co.uk/cemetery.html . They charge for a search however.

Thats a shame.
You could always post on the Lincolnshire board. Some kind rootschatter may live close by and be able to look for her. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

Hi Steven,

Did you perhaps mean Bilsby?

Hi Gavhare,

Some info here on Bilsby church

http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/LIN/Bilsby/

Perhaps now with a more definite church location you can put a request on the Lincs board for someone in the area to go take a picture for you.

Good luck

Hello Steve,

I am just starting to researching my family tree and as  a result of Googling "Claribel Janney" I found your post at Rootschat.  Although we don't know each other I am your cousin and my parents were Margaret Hollis ( nee Janney ) and Ralph Hollis.

Although I met most of  Mum's family when I visited Alford in 1982 , it was a fly by night visit and my memory of family members names etc is pretty vague.

I understand that I have another cousin (*) living in South Australia and  I intend writing to him as soon as I can find a postal address or email address.

My wife and I are currently living in Western Australia and other cousins (*) live in Western Australia.

I can provide you with details of my side of the family , if you would find this of interest. I would certainly appreciate any information you can provide me concerning the extended Janney family

Regards

Paul Hollis
