« on: Friday 23 October 09 08:13 BST (UK) »
Hi

does anyone know a link on the net where I can see a list of names on the East Retford War memorial for soldiers killed in WW1. I am particularly interested in the surname of Chandler and Millington

many thanks

A list is available from Nott's Family History Soc.

But the deaths I've found of Retford residents are:-

Arthur Clark Chandler Died of Wounds 7 Sep 1915.

Leonard Chandler Died of wounds 15 Apr 1916.

Charles Millington Killed in action 3 May 1917.

There are more details should you need them.

Skewy.

Hi Skewy

all three are my relatives that I am currently researching. They were my great Uncles.  I would welcome any other info that you may have on them.

I will go and have a look at the Notts Family History site

regards

CT

Hi CT,

Do you already have pics of the two Chandler War graves (Longuenesse & Aubigny), and Millington on the memorial at Arras?

They all 3 show up on http://twgpp.org/index.php and may also be available on http://www.britishwargraves.co.uk but I can't get on that site at the moment, it may be down for maintenance.
