Dont know if anyone can help i have Charles Davies born 1858 aston birmingham,my great grandfather.He was married to Rosina Clayton in aston ,i have marriage cert in 1878 listing father John Davies  i have found nothing about John Davies ??? Thanks Tina

Sorry, should have asked what was his fathers occupatioon on the marriage cert and where was Charles resident

Sorry only just got back ! Father  John Davies was a Shoemaker ,Charles address 67 Lichfield St Aston Birmingham

Well, that is where his father John is living in 1881 age 57 bn Carmarthen

Thats great thankyou :) i just couldnt get anywhere with the Davies side the name is so common i was just getting confused ,i have done much better with Rosinas side .Maybe Rosina still lived with her parents ? Her father was Edward Clayton a brass founder they lived in Doe St  Aston ,what do you think

She isn't with her parents in 1881. The 1881 census is free to search http://www.familysearch.org/eng/search/frameset_search.asp?PAGE=census/search_census.asp
