Marriage in Malta..

Hi again

Sarah Edith Grant [b. 1852 Wilts.] married  Henry Christian [b. 1853 Wicken ,Ireland]

1891 census lists Henry as a corporal in the Royal Engineers, at Chattenden Barracks Kent.

Also lists 2 children as born in Malta, Dorothy & Louis.  Have found the youngest registered in Fareham.

Cannot find a marriage or reg of birth for Dorothy  however, so I assume they both occurred in Malta..  Does anyone know if there's a way of finding that info. out please.

Hi,

I see Sarah is known as Edith in 1891 and she and her children are living in Fareham, Hampshire. As Sarah is using her middle name (and if I'm looking at the right birth, so is Frederick Henry L CHRISTIAN) I wonder if Dorothy is as well. I found this birth,

The regimental births index lists Edith D Christian, Malta 1889, R A vol 666 p 47 ( You should be able to view that one without charge on www.familyrelatives.com)

You've confirmed Dorothy was born in Malta, which is brilliant,  don't suppose you found any reference to Henry & Ediths marriage out there?

Silly question probably, but where are the GRO army birth indices, can they be looked at on line.  Take it's somewhere different to the family relatives site mentioned.

Those indices are also on Findmypast.

If we'd found the marriage you would have read about it by now!

Edith GRANT with same details.

At freebmd only two men show up for this date/ref. but checking the indexes there is Edith GRANT with the same details
