Barnoldswick parish records

Would someone mind looking up the marriage Henry Knowles to Sarah Firth at Barnoldswick on 24 Sep 1820
I am trying to find the birth of either party and am hoping the record may give me some clues. Thanks Jean

Pre 1837 marriage records only give the couples names, status, whether of the parish and witnesses.

No ages or parents names are given unfortunately

Hi,
If you looked in the 1851 census, assumin they were still alive then, you'd see where each of them was born [or said he was born] , then you could go to those parish records and hopefully find a baptism that gives at least the father's name.

Worth a try.

There are about 10 siblings listed as born to Thomas but there could be more than one Thomas Knowles in Hunslet, no mothers names are given

There is a  Henry and Sarah Knowles living in Burnley Union in 1941with their family.  There are other members of the household but I cannot make out if they are related.

There is an excellent site, One Guy From Barlick, google that or OGFB, , it is a forum site covering a broad spectrum of live and anecdotes over the years in Barnoldswick and the local area, amongst the items in the forum is a genealogy section, well worth a post for a look up in that section, but beware the site is like this one, contagious.

There is a  Henry and Sarah Knowles living in Burnley Union in 1941with their family.

I had seen that one.  It gives Henry as born in the Lancashire . but that could be wrong
