INGLE'S OF HOUGHTON, HUNTINGDONSHIRE
« on: Wednesday 09 March 05 09:36 GMT (UK) »
Does anyone have access to burial records covering the Houghton area of Huntingdonshire?
I am trying to find this info on the first wife of a JOHN INGLE whose name was ALICE.  She was on the 1841 Census for Houghton, but on the 1851 Census John Ingle's wifes name is shown as Frances.
Have looked on 'freebmd' website, but the death of an Alice Ingle isn't listed.
Can you help?

NBI - Only one Alice Ingle in Hunts, aged 5 days, buried 24 April 1834 at Houghton. No other Ingle burials at Houghton 1825-1900.

Both were alive still in 1861, John age 50 and Francis 59.

Hi David
Thanks for trying to help with my looking for the death of an Alice Ingle in Houghton.
Have scoured the GRO index and sent for the Death Certificate of an Alice Ingle that died in 1843, St Ives area.
How accurate is the NBI?
Regards, Carole

Hi Carole
I really don't know how accurate the transcriptions on the NBI are, but would hope they are good. What is more problematical is the coverage of the NBI, although for my three counties of interest, Beds Hunts and Cambs it is very good. Having said that it doesn't have Alice Ingle buried 1843, so assume she must have been from a parish that is not covered

Regards

David
