John Langdon is listed at 97 Weller St, Ashby in 1856. He's a smith.

I'm trying to find a John Langdon, smith, in 1903. Then that would give a real time slot!

In 1903 Elizabeth Langdon is in Main St, Coburg with Annie Schild.
Both Home Duties .
No sign of John Langdon or Annie's husband.

1909 & 1914  she's at 2 Rolland St Coburg. Annie's with her in !914, but can't see Annie in 1909. Maybe under a different spelling of Schild. Again.....no males there.

1919 the address for Elizabeth is 56 Cameron St, Coburg.

Annie Schild though is either listed as a costumierre at 69 Dundas Place, Albert Park, or a a saleswoman at 28 Murphy St, Richmond. Both entries have no other Schilds there.


Hmmmm....so either John did die before 1903 or you are right, Yonks Ago, and he scarpered.......

Have you checked the death for
John Langdon 1902 age 74
Father - Thomas  Mother  Mary Ann King
Hotham WBA ( I think this is Hotham West Benevolent Asylum)

Age is in the right area ( given how old wife Elizabeth was)

I do have that one...not a lot on it..but occupation is Currier and from Devonshire Eng..

but born in Devonshire...not Somerset!! waiting on certificates hoping to give more on Somerset..

But remember that the information on a death certificate is only as good as the knowledge of the person giving that information.   

And if he died in the Benevolent Society, it probably was not a family member.


Just something to consider......
