I think you should get fixed up OK from either source but it might be a good idea to compare prices between the 2 trades as one of them might be inflating the price by comparison to the other.

I have been given some of these to, or at least I think they are the same. Mine are postcard sized and embroidered designs backed by card.  They are in good condition and as their new custodian I want to keep them that way, they are first world war era. What advice can you give me on the best way to look after them?
Many thanks
Carol

Hi Carol :)

What a beautiful little thing it is  :D  Yes, it looks like the same kind of object.

My best advice is contained in my original reply to Pat:

You can buy acid free display pouches from any postage stamp dealer, there doesn't seem to be many "rusrt marks" on the lighter parts of the pictures. Once you have them in an acid free protective pouch then view them as little as possible, personally I would use the photo you have displayed on this thread if you want to show them off.

Hi Carol
They are lovely items aren't they, the ones we have are from my wife's grandfather and include personal messages written by him to his wife and children which makes them very special to her.
We opted to photograph them and keep the origionals protected from light and dust as advised on here  :)
Regards
Pat

Thankyou all for your advice, I will keep them out of the light and protected. In my case only one is written on, but that seems to have been sent by my husbands Grandfather to his Mother.

Hi Carol
I know it seems such a shame to hide them away but they are irreplacable
Hope future generations feel the same way  :-\
