« on: Sunday 01 November 09 21:51 GMT (UK) »
Hi All,
Does anyone know anything about George Hapwood. He is buried in Witta Cemetery, which is near Maleny Qld. (no headstone). 27th Jan 1914
I can't find him on the electoral roll or anything else. I can't find his death in the indexes could someone see if they can find some sort of variation.
thanks
Jo

Hi there,

Do you know any other info about this chap .... was he born "overseas" or in "Australia", and if overseas, then do you have possible names for his parents as sometimes their names are shown on immigration lists....

Perhaps the surname was Hopwood ?

Many cheers,

JM

Is this the source of your information?
http://www.interment.net/data/aus/qld/caloundra/witta/witta_ah.htm

Could it be HAPGOOD.

1914/C463
HAPGOOD   George
Father John Hapgood   Mother Elizabeth Shaw

Perhaps a browse on this website may help.  Family may be connected.

Good luck

Ah! There you go. When in trouble it is always better to cry for help!
Thankyou Just Moi for your input, but a big thankyou to cando.
I got home from work and read your help and got the very worn out CD to work and YES!
George HapGOOD did pass on the 26 Jan 1914. Pardon my glee, but he is now being recognized and in the lime light again. He will be pleased that he will have his name corrected, even be it only on my site.

I am doing the Maleny Pioneers and this is turning out to be a big project, and, it entails photographing all the headstones and no headstones, and I am doing their trees as well.

By the way if anyone would like to put their trees on my site you are most welcome all free.

kindest regards,
Joanne
